Liberal Political Rant: Climate Change gets ignored again!

Climate change being ignored again .png

It did not take much guess work at all to calculate that when Republicans got the United States majority they also brought the USA to hell with that. Say goodbye to progressive social programs, positive environmental initiatives as well as positive programs to help the massive United States student debt.

Say hello to phrases like “Global Warming is a myth.” As the country proceeds government administration being run by the dumbest leader in the recent two decades.

On June 2nd 2017 Donald Trump decided not to sign the G7. One of many moves that have the public turned against this not so great leader.

Trump is a climate disaster.jpg

This photo from the Guardian Newspaper website says it all. Trump is a Climate disaster! His actions at the G7 were an embarrassment and he is choosing to not unify the United States with the rest of the progressive world in an environmental time where you don’t have to look that hard to see drastic changes happening. Changes like, record heats, rising shorelines, and animal extinctions.

One thing that isn’t touched on enough is non-voters, are just as much to blame as voters in the United States for electing such a moron to speak for their country. Back during 2016, I couldn’t believe when I read the statistics for Trump on his way to closing a victory in the United States election. This wasn’t a surprise. The voter pool narrowed because voters wouldn’t get behind Clinton’s campaign or personality, Bernie Sanders was inspirational but couldn’t contend with power & no one really matched his status going into this election.

As it relates to Canada

So when a Conservative/Republican wins you basically have to say goodbye to rational thought and sanity in how your country is run. Get ready to see the country operate under lacking budgets, with overly western religious values & a poor plan to tackle anything environmental.

Now honestly, as it pertains to the next Canadian election do we really want that type of leadership opposed to Kathleen Wynne? No, we don’t because our minimum wage is going up, environmental companies are growing as they should and we are protecting Canada’s natural resources to the best of our economic ability. So nevermind what has happened, if you don’t want Canada ran like the United States of America with “Donald Dumbass!” . Make sure Kathleen says Premiere, and avoid Patrick Browne like the plague!

Consequence if Patrick Browne wins? We get a dumbass who will actually share a common value system as Donald Trump. Someone who will knock climate change, be stingey with the budget and screw up health care!

Flight service issues

Flight attendants are over stressed!

Sometimes when you work in a service role with a company you can only do so much before you break down. In the flight service industry, there are still a lot of glitches in providing high standard customer service.

Flights are still overbooked, regulations are increasingly high and the expectations of employees in mid-level jobs are becoming more & more demanding.

It becomes increasingly hard to do your job as a flight attendant when you consider your large scope of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring emergency equipment works
  • That Cabins are clean
  • Attending to passengers
  • Makes sure there is enough food on board

You are expected to do this in conditions where:

  • Your company irresponsibly oversells tickets
  • Post 9/11 regulations practically force you to be suspicious of all customers.
  • Customers are uncomfortable due to lack of space in the cabin.

Of course, all of this is becoming harder during high use times of flight services. Here are some examples of flight mishaps during heightened service times. The downside of over stressing customer service people is stuff like this happens, read articles below:

Anderson, Mae. ” American Airlines grounds flight attendant after a confrontation on plane.” CP24. N.p., 22 Apr. 2017. Web. 22 Apr. 2017. <CP24 Flight grounded>. Leslie Scott a public ambassador of American Airlines was put on the spot in the eyes of the press after a male flight attendant had a physical confrontation taking away a stroller from a passenger. This article proves working in the public service sector is increasingly difficult and to some degree, there is bound to be a burnout. Although you can not excuse this public mishap you have to wonder if the stress of his employment caused this!

Passy, Jacob. “Nearly half of young Americans won’t fly United anymore.” Market Watch. N.p., 22 Apr. 2017. Web. 22 Apr. 2017. <Young Americans won’t fly anymore>. This article talks about young people now making the choice not to fly. Also the wrongful removal of David Dao a 69 year old doctor on a United Airlines flight. This another famous example of customer mistreatment on a North American flight service. Just another reason why consumers are considering their options in national and international travel. Are the employees really to blame? Or are the consumers right in blaming the company for creating such hellish travel conditions?

To conclude, it is my opinion that Flight attendants are in an overstressed role that should be more service focussed but rather has become more job focused. It is my opinion that certain attendants should not work with the consumers but rather just handle the administrative resource & emergency duties. Flight attendants who specialize in customer service should be the only ones dealing with consumers.

Donald Trump as a war president…

According to Chicago Tribune Donald Trump’s Attacks on Syria were in an effort to “end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria,”|Ashton Deroy writes This press statement makes no sense and is leaving the American people with more questions than answers.

US Ambassador said”We are prepared to do more, but we hope that will not be necessary. It is time for all civilized nations to stop the horrors that are taking place in Syria and demand a political solution.”

Ashton Deroy says “At this time I have removed Donald Trump as a celebrity influence. Until reasoning has been made clear to all about this strike I think it is hard for even the most reasonable Republicans to stand behind this international move of hostility.

I have a bit of a hard time supporting the movement of a man who rejects refugees than kills a bunch of people in Syria. It is hard at this time to not perceive Trump as a mostly hostile figurehead. This will surely offset some of the stimulation he gave the stock Market in early 2017. Donald Trump was good for the economy article: click here

Threat to Future campaign: At this time some work has to be done re-position Trump as somewhat of a charitable humanitarian otherwise the public much like me is going to see him as nothing but hostile and move towards the Democratic majority again.

(A Charitable humanitarian uses their own money instead of government funds to help a worthy cause.)

That article cements the original plan for growth in GDP, Improved after tax earnings and lowering inflation rates.

It takes a special kind of lunatic to say “I am going to make a statement of defiance by killing people with my car!” If you really feel that defiant don’t join a cult movement. Take up drinking… Like normal people!”Satirical commentary on the above event.

Diana & I talk.png

Diana Skye writes: I was very saddened to hear about what happened in London. While there have been terrorist attacks all over Europe in recent years, the UK was largely spared from them. It just goes to show you are never completely safe from these heartless and selfish terrorists.

Even in Canada there have been attacks, notably the one in Ottawa in 2014 and the incident Ashton and I discussed above. That was when a terrorist attacker wielding a knife went into a military recruitment centre in Toronto and stabbed two soldiers. He also attempted to stab Ashton’s aunt who worked there. Fortunately none of the injuries were serious.

My thoughts go out to London and everyone affected by such senseless attacks.

Organizational Culture Study for Business Management Class.

Ashton Deroy Writes Now to move on to some cool Business School assignments I wanted to share with Blog readers.

What is Organizational Culture? According to works cited in the PDF Organizational culture is defined as,  A set of values, beliefs & attitudes possessed by employees of a company.

The major players we found in Organizational culture were:

    • Terrence Deal and Allan A.Kennedy  – They proposed one of the first models of organizational culture. Terrence was a University professor at the University of California.
    • Eric Sinoway – A writer who writes boldly for Harvard Business Review that top performers who hurt employee culture should be fired.
    • James Wolfensohn – A former investment banker who said re-staffing management roles was the best way to change organizational structure in a company.

Below is a PDF on Organizational Culture.

Organizational Culture

Statement

One cool thing I found on the work for successful Organizational Cultures, is that they have a lot of affirmative action. A company wants to cut out the cancers so that the life that is the company can live with the highest quality. Alot this statement stems from the investment banker James Wolfensohn’s work in organizational culture structure in the investment banking section of finance.

On thing a professor repeats to me consistently is this. “You can’t soar with eagles, when you fly with chickens.” I apply this to work relationships, friendships & choice of romantic partners.

I have seen what being passive gets you from years of watching loved ones get screwed over by toxic relationships, friendships & relatives. So why bring that crap to work?

Dear Poland.png

Dear Poland,

When I was younger, I spent several summers visiting you. Some of them were more difficult than others, but I had great moments. I always enjoyed walking through the Skwer Kościuszki and playing in the sand at the Sopot beaches. The best blueberries I ever had grew in my aunt’s garden. It’s safe to say you gave me some great memories.

Something that I always had an issue with was the religious extremists, particularly those who listen to Radio Maryja. This radio station was started by a priest and most of the listeners are old people in rural areas. It has been accused of homophobia and antisemitism among other things. Also the priest has given bad sex advice although he’s supposedly celibate. It claims to be “the Catholic voice in your home” but even the Vatican has said they are deeply concerned about Radio Maryja.

I know every country has amazing people as well as horrible ones. Even Canada has its prejudiced idiots. So I did what I do here: not take them seriously and laugh at some of the dumb crap they say. My close relatives all think these people are stupid. Surely most of Poland did too, right?

At least that’s what I thought until a government supported by Radio Maryja came into power. Since then, you have been slowly going backwards. The new government wanted to ban all abortions, even though the abortion law is already among the most restrictive in Europe. (Can only be performed in cases of rape, incest, deformed fetus, or when the mother’s life is in danger) Thankfully this new law did not pass. However there is a law that did pass and it negatively affects me.

Even though I was born in Canada, I am the daughter of a Polish citizen. Therefore I have had Polish citizenship since I came into this world. I used to have a Polish passport, but it expired when I was twenty. I did not bother to renew it since Poland does not require visas from Canadian citizens. The last time I visited was four years ago and I had no troubles. Now the idiots in power have decided to change this. If I go back, I cannot leave without a Polish passport. I would be stuck in the country for three months during the application process.

I think this is ridiculous. I have never lived with you and do not consider myself a citizen. I now have several choices and hate all of them. One is to get a Polish passport, which would be time consuming and cost money. Another would be to risk it and try to get out through Germany, hoping border controls are not in place. There is also getting stuck and hoping the Canadian Embassy can help me out somehow.

If it were not for potential inheritance, I would get rid of my citizenship. It would be $600 and require a long drive, but I would have no future concerns. I would be just another Canadian visitor once again. My dad lost his citizenship decades ago due to political reasons. At this point, I almost envy him.

I did not want it to come to this. I have several relatives in your country that I adore. I do not think you are a bad place. In fact, you came a long way after communism fell. However, the direction that you are going in makes me sad. I really want things to change for the better, preferably soon. Until then, you will not be seeing me for a while.

Lots of love,

Diana.
