I also am promoting a dog walking service on Kijiji again. I want to manage my own clients on weekends and after 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Rates are up for negotiation but I am looking for at least a minimum wage compensation.

I also ordered some new boxing gloves on Amazon.ca , despite my disinterest with the website related to their “Pay to sell” format. I just needed to acquire the gloves for my Tuesday Kickboxing classes at Seneca Newnham Campus.

I am moving my return to Facebook back until after the Seneca Teacher strike is completed since I really haven’t had any work on social media in quite some time. However readers, friends & family can still reach out to me through Whatsapp. My phone number is 647-850-6802.

Should Toronto Pride 2017 lose their grant over police scandal?

Should Toronto Pride lose their grant-.png

This is a reply to CP24

Fox, Chrs. “LGBTQ officers call on city to cut annual grant given to Pride.” CP 24. N.p., 19 Apr. 2017. Web. 30 Apr. 2017. <Should Pride lose their grant? CP24 Article >. This article is a reply to the CP24 article on LGBTQ officers coming out to saying the city should cut funding to Toronto Pride over discontinuing the OPP float. The article goes on to mention that the organization is given a $260,000 grant for Pride. The article states that the police feel it is unacceptable the stance the Toronto Pride has taken with the police force & the article discusses the details of the organization giving in to a radical organization.

Ashton Deroy writes: Something needs to happen about the wrong moves being made with Toronto Pride in 2016/2017. Weather it is removing the board, getting better members or someone from the city leveraging power, saying give the police a float or lose this power. Yes something should happen!

Should they lose a $260,000 grant though? That is tough to say. What is the grant for? If the grant is for funding a massive tourism attraction. No Toronto Pride should not lose this grant. However if the grant is to allow for involvement from the province, city & etc at all capacities in the parade. Yes the grant should be revoked from Toronto Pride.

Grant purpose– The grant is setup as a cultural attractions grant for tourism. So no the grant should not be pulled from Toronto Pride. It is unfortunate that this will not be what the police force is able to leverage but I do encourage them to continue to speak up about their disliking for Pride’s treatment towards them in 2016-2017.

As far as the grant goes, I doubt Toronto is going to axe this grant as there are massive cultural benefits to the city from being able to have this event every year.

So are you unhappy about the lack of solidarity between Pride & the Police force? I demand passionate readers contact Toronto Pride & speak up about this issue.

What do we do? We are a group of Autistic professionals and academics.

Hey, guys, this is the new central hub for our Autism group. As Kiav Suggested we still recommend the use of the Autism Power hashtag to talk about our group.

What do we need to do right now?

  • Set a date for our first video call 20 minutes long.
  • Set a date for going out for Shawarma
  • What do we want to do with this group?

My Smartphone tries to kill me and others with directions, Now let’s get a car to drive on those directions!

Self driving cars.png

Casner, Stephen M. The challenges of partially automated driving. N.p.: ACM Digital Library, 2016. Print. This is an article from the digital Library technologies data-base from Seneca College. It discusses the challenges in self-driven vehicle technology. This article helps to prove that this technology is much too risky to come to the market. I apply this to explain why it would be a dangerous technology on the Toronto Roads and Toronto Market. Highlights of this article are the lack of awareness in drivers, the need for manual control and consciousness and how similar technology in planes still has errors.

If anyone has taken direction to travel advice from a GPS recently they realize that this is not a perfect science. In face once when I was out on the road with my friend Kella, her GPS tried to kill us 2 times. Once by trying to drive us off a bridge, once trying to get us to turn in to oncoming traffic. Needless to say rational human common sense is what saved our lives! Now let’s remove that…

First off we are going to have issues when we encourage the drivers to be less attentive to the road. Secondly you can’t program a computer to account for every unpredictable element in Toronto. Lastly all technology has some acceptable amount of errors!

We thought our demises would be met by drunk or texting drivers, this was because it took away the focus from the driver and made them clumsy. How attentive are they going to be when we reduce the amount of time they navigate the vehicle? Some of us are like “Screw personal drivers! It is 2020 I want a computer to take me to work. I will draft up marketing documents in the car while it handles the medial tasks.” Meanwhile it is this logic that will remain the logic that puts us through the window of the car before we even make it to work. Why is this? It is because just like texting and drinking distracted drivers.  Automating the driver will have the pilot not thinking about driving as well.

Secondly how do you program a computerized driver to prepare for the other crazy drivers on a typical Toronto road? The Drivers who despite are supposed to stop at red lights, still manage to nearly kill people at crosswalks! The answer is you can’t. This is why people invented the process of defensive driving. This is not something you can really teach a machine because it something we learned through our human instincts.

Lastly all technology has an acceptable error rate. Honestly as long as a cell phone doesn’t explode. It will stand a chance on today’s tech market. What are the acceptable errors in automated driving? Losing signal in the middle of a highway and halting the drive? Or are we going to have some cool exploding robotic cars? Either way I don’t want to see it.

To conclude I don’t want the automated cars to even hit the market and the roads of Toronto. We will have distracted vehicle pilots, naive vehicle brains and unpredictable vehicle errors. Lets face it , Toronto is deadly enough without robotic cars! So I hope these never hit the market.

Shaun Vollick Guest speaks for Seneca Business club

March 27th 2017, Ashton Deroy was in the Senacentre to learn about success, teamwork and project management from Shaun Vollick MEd, PMP.  This was an event organized by the Seneca College Business group which had free pizza, coffee & discussion amongst Business, Human Resources and Engineering students.

Team work agile approach Shaun Vollick proposes that the new methodology for team work should be approached with an agile approach. Constantly adapting the team to the changes of economics practices, competitors and demands of the client/customer. He does suggest this ideology is not idiot proof as it requires management to eventually produce end products to projects!

Success keys , work to not specialize. (To Be Written)

Project management , focussing on purpose. (To Be Written)

Big Mac Sauce is hitting Grocery stores.

Ashton‘s commentary: This is another article by Anita Srivastava on McDonalds expanded their product lines in to the grocery stores this barbecue season.

Big Mac, McChicken And Filet-O-Fish Sauces Coming To Canadian Stores This Spring

McDonald’s sauces join a number of other popular restaurant brands that have made signature dishes and condiments available for purchase in-stores like Tim Hortons and Starbucks both sell their high quality coffee by the bags in grocery stores.

 Barbecue season is coming

The well-known fast food chain McDonalds decided to launch Big Mac, McChicken and Filet-O-Fish sauces for purchase across the country this spring. Although McDonald’s Canada released a YouTube video showing how to prepare “special sauce,” – a version of the Big Mac – the company thinks that it would be more convenient for customers to just to go to the store and buy it.

“This is part of our continued commitment to giving Canadians more ways to enjoy McDonald’s,” Adam Grachnik, McDonald’s Canada spokesperson. (Racco)

Unfortunately for the corporation, not all people anticipating the sauce, they think it won’t be any “revolution” of summer barbecues this year. Others think it would be a total boom: some Americans got a hold of bottles of Big Mac sauce earlier this year when McDonald’s gave away few thousands of this “godsend” at its restaurants. Additionally, lots of people hawked the bottles for more than 100$+ on eBay.

“And Big Mac sauce is now sold in stores like what the hell how much better can this year get”( — Nicole (@nicole_henderr).

“Big Mac sauce is not just a condiment, it’s an LIFESTYLE! #BigMacSauce is coming to Canada!!! @McD_Canada”`

( Morgan Ryan @Mix967Morgan)

Seneca Student Federation Process becoming over socially regulated.

Socialized process.png

The above picture is a link to my Instagram page. If you attend Seneca College you probably see the process of the Student elections happening.

A process the Businessphere has been following quite closely. However having talked to the candidates here are some changes being speculated for the next Seneca Student Federation election to come.

  1. No pictures in the digital voting process – Yes in order to fight discrimination, the system is at it again with another unnecessary change. Why dress up? Be formal? Or even have presentation skills? People are going to vote for a piece of text instead! The idea is stupid as hell and only serves to make the students more blind in future ballads.
  2. Further socialized promotional practices– They already have to put their posters beside their competitors making the promotional act of hanging a poster stupid in the first place! Now it is being said that there will be further restrictions on SSF promotions for elections to move forward. Is this all in the interest of fairness? Or all in the interest of easy wins?

Everyone having their poster in the same spot is the same as no one having their poster up…

What the election system actually needs?

  • Candidate websites – MOST PEOPLE DON’T EVEN KNOW THE CANDIDATE PLATFORMS! They are insulting college level intelligence by not offering a solid backing to their cliche Student campaign promises. By the way Everyone on the same website is the same as everyone not having a website!
  • A Panel – Put the candidates side by side with their competitors and lets have discussion. See who shines through!
  • More journalism – There needs to be an information release on wins, losses & etc. We need to distribute the information through Facebook or WordPress so that information is more public.

Supported Seneca Student Federation Campaigns

Ashton Deroy supports the potential student vice president with a PHD in economy, Masters Degree in Finance and Bachelor in Law.

Sohail Zafar Shaikh

Each of the pictures link to a campaign page or blog post for the Seneca Student Federation picks I have for the upcoming SSF election. The candidates I have picked are Sohail Zafar for Board of Director’s spot, Viktorria Kovalchuk for Vice President & lastly Roma Rorssf

Viktorria – I support her for her elite background, ideals for improving quality of life at Seneca and fundraising ideas.

Sohail Zafar – Is in my kickboxing class, a respectful guy. He is not running for a paid position but he does have great ideas for diversifying our food menus.

Roma Rorssf – I almost supported her adversary but because Roma took my interview and Nicole didn’t. I chose to support Roma instead. Here is an idea, support the people who support you!

Remember to vote on March 20th at Seneca Newnham campus.

Roma Rorssf Seneca Student Federation President statement

 Campaign poster.jpg
What are your qualifications? “My qualifications are that I’ve been on the recreation council, varsity softball team, I’ve been a mentor to two Seneca freshmen student via the SMILE program and I’ve even founded my own business. I’m very passionate about leadership and involvement and this suits me well for the position.”
What are the duties of the Seneca Student Federation President? The duties of SSF president are student advocacy, both at the school and at a provincial level. Duties include the general managent of the SSF. It’s up to the president to be a voice of guidance to the SSF for the benefit of students.
What do I plan to accomplish? This answer varies from campus to campus, and group to group, but overall I intend to improve the level of customer service that students recieve, the marketing for events so that people are more aware of events, and better customization.
Food statement: Many people are interested in better food options at their campus, more mental health awareness and a reduction of a $40 fee to early childhood education students who are mandated to pay for a booklet offered by the ministry that they could have printed off the internet for free. These are just some of the challenges that I’ll look at tackling as president.

Thank you, and I hope to meet many of you on campus!
